Tupac at Cochella

Tupac came back from the dead to perform the Cochella Music Festival this past weekend. This is a pretty cool use of holographic technology (even though it’s not a hologram, it’s a 2-D image being projected onto a screen. Calling it holographic just sounds better.)

“Tupac” performs alongside Snoop Dogg for two songs, “Come With Me, Hail Mary” and “Gangsta Party”. It’s really convincing by the time they get to the second song. But alas, he’s not real and disappears into the abyss at the end of the performance.

This performance apparently cost around half a million to pull off. Since it was such a success, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg plan to take this hologram on the road in the future. Of course there are some who feel this is not ethical but I have to say it is pretty cool none the less.  This video has been watched over 4 million times since being posted Monday April 16, 2012.
